Covid-19. How does it affect the Food Bank?

The Hope Centre is continuing to monitor and follow the outbreak and implications of COVID-19 (coronavirus). We have been reviewing and closely monitoring the situation daily and are taking appropriate steps to ensure the health of our team, volunteers, and people we serve.

We are still open and still serving the marginalized and people in crisis of our city. But the cafe during the drop-in is closed and as we have fewer volunteers at the moment because our older volunteers have to look after themselves and stay at home, we are limited with the situation we find ourselves in but still giving out about 70 to 80 bags each week.

In the next week, we are going to start working alongside Derby council to give food to people that have had to self-isolate due to the virus. We are open on Tuesdays from 1 pm to 3 pm and on Fridays from 10:30 am to 1 pm.

In regard to donations of food, we can receive donations during the times that we are open, but if you’re unable to deliver it to us you can email us for information about making a monetary donation online into our bank account.

We really appreciate your understanding during this time. We will do our best to attend every one.
