Food Bank new system

Aiming to serve our community better, we're changing the Food Bank system from 27th of July. We're replacing our voucher referral system with a face to face signposting system. But the Hope Store will remain on a voucher system. So, how this is going to work?

  1. You don't need a voucher anymore, you just need to turn up during our Food Bank opening times. If you are struggling and need the Food Bank support, we would love to help you but instead of just giving you a food parcel, we would like to sit with and have a chat with you to understand your currently situation. That way we will be able to help you as long as you need.

  2. You will be able to choose what you want in your food parcel. Through the chat with our volunteers, you will be able to go through a list of items and choose exactly what you want in your parcel.

  3. Help with basic budgeting. Being able to sit with the clients gives us the chance to understand their situation. If you need a little help to understand how you can manage your finances better, our volunteers will be able to go though a basic budgeting system with you and also agree how long we will support you with food parcels.

About the Hope Store:

The Hope Store (for clothes, bedding, kitchen items) is open but, until further notice, the clients will not be able to access the area where we store the items. Our volunteers are carefully packing what the clients need and will hand it over to them when they drop in during our opening hours.

The Food Bank is opened on Tuesdays, from 1 pm to 3 pm, and on Fridays, from 10:30 am to 1 pm.
