Food Bank update - April 15

The Hope Centre is continuing to monitor and follow the outbreak and implications of COVID-19 (coronavirus). We have been reviewing and closely monitoring the situation daily and are taking appropriate steps to ensure the health of our team, volunteers, and people we serve.

We are still open and still serving the marginalised and people in crisis of our city. But the cafe during the drop-in is closed and as we have fewer volunteers at the moment, we are limited with the situation we find ourselves in but still giving out about over 80 food parcels each week. We gave out nearly 800 food parcels since January this year.

Items needed

Here are some items we need at the moment:

  • Tins of Fish

  • 1 kg. bags of long grain rice

  • 1 lt. bottles of squash

  • 1 lt. long life semi-skimmed milk

  • Tea (40g)

  • Weetabix

  • Pasta Sauce

How to donate

We receive no statutory funding at all, so donations are vital to sustaining our work.  If you would like to give money to help us, please get in touch for details.  If you would like to donate food, you can see the up to date list of items we are short of here on the website. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the office is open Tuesday and Friday from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm to receive donations.

Thankfulness

We want like to thank everyone who continues to give us donations of either food or money. If we are able to make it happen it is also because of you.
