Foodbank

Our food bank seeks to provide a three-day emergency food parcel for those who are in need.

We receive our food from different places around Derby – individuals, schools, businesses, churches and other charities all contribute to helping people in crisis. We are thankful for any donation, whether it be food (long shelf life and in date) or money – the more we receive, the better we can ensure we can fill the food parcels all year round.

“I really appreciate the friendships I’ve made since volunteering at the Hope Centre.”

- Hope Centre Volunteer

Hope Store

Our Hope Store aims to provide high-quality donated bedding, toiletries, and kitchen equipment to individuals assessed as being in need of these essentials.

Please note that we will only be accepting referrals for CLOTHES until the end of February.
From March onwards, the Hope Store will no longer provide clothing and will operate only for Bedding and Kitchen Items.

Why are we changing this?
We have noticed a very high demand for clothing, especially men’s clothing. However, due to our limited space, clients are not able to choose their own clothes, which can be disappointing. We want to offer people the best possible experience and dignity.

Because of this, we have partnered with another local organisation:

Global Fund for Jesus
They accept referrals for clothes through a voucher system.
Referring organisations will need to purchase the vouchers, which usually cost around £5.
In our experience, the shop is very generous, and clients are allowed to choose clothes that truly meet their needs.

📍 Address: 11 Babington Lane, Derby, DE1 1SY
All our clothing stock is being moved there. They also provide school uniforms.

Children’s clothing:
For children’s clothes, please contact: TOGS – Derby New Church

Our Food Bank & Hope Store System

Our Food Bank works with a face to face signposting system. You just need to turn up during our Food Bank drop-in hours. If you are struggling and need the Food Bank support, we would love to help but instead of just giving you a food parcel, we would like to sit with you and have a chat to understand what is going on. That way we will be able to help you as long as you need.

Our Hope Store remains on a voucher system. You can obtain one from one of the more than 60 agencies in the city that supply our vouchers, or mention your need in the conversation with our signposters.
